Nova Scotia government tables “uncaring” budget

The “uncaring” budget presented yesterday by the Rankin government has many gaps in new program spending, some of which includes long term care, child care and community services. “Most notably, there was no recognition for the value of ‘care’ related jobs – predominantly female, low paying sectors of work,” says CUPE Nova Scotia President Nan McFadgen.

Canadian Performers ratify new Video Game Agreement between ACTRA and Game On Creative, Inc.

Canadian performers have ratified the terms of settlement reached between ACTRA and Game On Creative, Inc. with respect to the agreement covering performers engaged in video game production in Canada. The new agreement includes a three per cent increase to all rates in each year of the three-year Agreement and is retroactively in effect from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2023.
