Liberals Hold a Six-Point Lead Over Conservatives in Canada

Vancouver, BC [September 17, 2020] – The governing Liberal Party is ahead of all other contenders in Canada’s federal political scene, a new Research Co. poll has found.

In the online survey of a representative national sample, 38% of decided voters would support the Liberal candidate in their constituency if an election were held today, down one point since a similar Research Co. poll conducted in May.

OTTAWA -- The RCMP has charged former Liberal MP Raj Grewal with four counts of breach of trust and one count of fraud over $5,000.

The RCMP said the charges are the conclusion of an "extensive criminal investigation" that began in September 2017 after the RCMP was alerted to “suspicious transactions” involving Grewal, during the time he served as a member of Parliament.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s office is ignoring requests he testify at a House of Commons committee over the government’s cancelled contract to have WE Charity administer a new $900-million program, according to Conservative MP Pierre Poilievre.


The Conservatives, backed by the NDP and Bloc Québécois, put Mr. Trudeau on their witness list for the finance committee’s study of the contract. The study begins Thursday.
