Saskatchewan Party Candidate Promoted Messages From an Anti-Gay Preacher and a Doomsday Prophet

Saskatchewan’s Minister of Highways and Infrastructure Minister has been sharing questionable messages from a pair of Texas pastors who preach extreme views, including one known for railing against “homosexuals” and another who authored a book that warned of the end of the world.

On Sunday, Greg Ottenbreit, who is a candidate for Scott Moe’s Saskatchewan Party in the province’s 2020 election, tweeted out a Thanksgiving message to his followers: “If you need an inspirational message today, watch this.”

City of Whitehorse corporate emissions up 40 per cent in four years due to unlikely culprit

Corporate emissions from the City of Whitehorse have increased by 40 per cent since 2015, falling far short of a goal to reduce them by 10 per cent from 2014 levels this year, according to a new emissions report.

“This result highlights that the current staffing levels, prioritization, and project funding approach have not been sufficient to make progress on [greenhouse gas] emissions reductions,” says the report, which quantifies the city’s corporate emissions between 2015 and 2019. (The city defines corporate emissions as “those that the local government creates through its activities (and which it has control over) such as local government building operations, recreation centres, vehicle fleets, and utility services.”)

Dissidents of the Turkish government are living in fear in Canada

Turkey’s long arm and espionage activities against dissidents living in exile in Canada has become a growing concern. As revealed in a startling recent news report, 15 Turkish-Canadians have been targeted by the Turkish government within the scope of a “terrorism” investigation.

Needless to say, the term “terrorist” has become a commonly applied label in Turkey describing almost all opponents of the Turkish government, in and out of the country. Turkey’s operations in Canada have an impact that goes beyond its immediate targets. Such planned and organized espionage activities could pose a danger to public safety.

Sam Anderson, a former senior product trainer for Hootsuite in Vancouver, said Tuesday she’d been fired after publicly denouncing the company’s partnership with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

ICE is the agency, formed after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, that finds and deports undocumented immigrants living in the U.S.

Hootsuite had earlier cancelled its contract with ICE after Anderson and other employees revolted over the relationship.
